«By this, she shows that being natural is beautiful»: Lady Gaga is no longer shy about the imperfections of her skin

Lady Gaga has now given another refreshing social media moment.

There seems to be a natural skin movement on Instagram right now, and we’re all for it.  We’ve seen makeup-free selfies of Kourtney Kardashian in the 90s, Hailey Bieber opened up about her sleep issues with a natural selfie, and Gigi Hadid’s glowing unfiltered selfie last year.  Gigi blessed us with another makeup-free selfie while enjoying the sun during Milan Fashion Week last week.

Lady Gaga gave us another refreshing moment on social media, and this is an important one.  When we see photos of celebrities on the red carpet, we often see super-smooth skin, airbrushed or softened with filters and well-placed lighting.

However, when the Gucci star posted a selfie on Instagram shortly before attending the SAG Awards, it showed off her true skin.

Gaga wears white eyeshadow to match her dress, as well as dramatic eyeliner, well-groomed brows, and subtle glossy lip gloss.

The most attractive aspect of the photo is that it shows her natural skin texture including pores and freckles.  Because what is it, everything?  Pores and freckles are completely natural.

We’re so used to seeing smooth, filtered skin that we almost start to believe that’s what «normal» skin looks like, which is why it’s so important to see a celebrity like Lady Gaga share an unfiltered image.

Of course, «normal» skin looks different for everyone, from pores and blackheads to blemishes and freckles, «normal» skin comes in many shapes.

Let’s hope we get to see more of these unfiltered moments from our favorite celebrities. This is a must for social media.

«I am honored to be there, it is a privilege to be an artist.  The world constantly provides us with reasons not to smile.  I pray for Ukraine tonight and send smiles to all your hearts, which I hope will recover soon».

If you’d like to learn more about how you can help Ukraine, we’ve compiled a list of charities and resources that are in dire need of your help right now.
